Moscow

Russia was AMAZING! The architecture of the buildings and churches was incredible and the bright colored onion domes were beautiful! Again, we spent our time walking around and sight seeing. First we went to Red Square where we saw the Kremlin and St. Basil's Cathedral, which was built in the 16th century by Ivan the Terrible. We also went to Lenin's Mausoluem (...a little creepy).
While standing in the forever long line to see him, we were offered to buy one of those furry Russian hats. We kept saying no thank you and the guy said we would regret not buying them. He was right!

This is the state historical museum, charting Russian civilation. It was built in the 1870's and was officially opened by Tsar Alexander III.

There were a lot of churches to tour also. It was incredible to see the detail and all of the gold.

This is a 200-ton Tsar Bell that is the largest in the world, but it was never completed and never rung.

This building is called the GUM department store, which housed very pricey boutiques. We felt a little out of place but the inside was so beautiful with glass ceilings and very decorative walls.

A highlight of this trip (for the girls at least) was the Russian bath! After a few days on the train with no shower it was so refreshing. First we relaxed in a sauna then jumped into a cold bath the size of a swimming pool.

Clayton's highlight was finding his stroganoff! We hunted all over for that Russian dish and must have walked 5 or 6 miles but we finally found it! Yummy stroganoff!
